Getting The Most From Your Email Marketing Campaign!
Email marketing is still one of the most cost effective marketing tools out there. The only issue is that it’s easy to misuse it. Here are 7 things to avoid that will help you get the most out of your campaign!
Poor Subject Lines
Having a poor subject line to your email is one of the worst mistakes you can make. If your target marketing deletes your e-mail without even reading it then that’s a lost conversion. Can you think of a time when you opened an email because of a clever subject?
Knowing Your Audience
I always tell my customers that run an e-commerce website to have two separate email lists. One for people who sign up for the e-mail newsletter and one for people who have purchased a product. The ones who have purchased a product you can be a little bit more aggressive sales wise because they are already customers. However, the ones who just sign up for news and updates are easy to scare away. Those customers are the ones who should get occasional holiday emails or company news bulletins.
Lack Of Testing
A/B split testing works wonders with all internet marketing. Use it to test out two subject lines or two different email designs. The one that performs the best is the one you should send out to the rest of your list!
Confusing content, Bad Links, Too Bulky & Poor Design
The rest of the email marketing sins all fall along the same kind of scenario. That is bad content. Make sure to proof read your email newsletters as well as test for bad links. If your email is image heavy make sure to compress the images to save memory. Write your emails in a way that’s easily “skim-able” and always opt for a professional graphic design. You can always count on your friends at Climb New Heights for professional designs…wink wink!
