Take Your LinkedIn Skills To The Next Level!
I’ll admit, I’ve been using LinkedIn for a while now and I thought I was doing pretty good. I mean I have over 2,500 connections and I check my LinkedIn mail every day…nothing but spam. In all honesty, I was beginning to think LinkedIn sucked. That was until I stumbled upon these 6 tips to get the most out of LinkedIn during a LinkedIn seminar!
Tip #1: Improve Your Profile
The best way to improve your LinkedIn profile is to check out people in your industry who are highly regarded and take a page from their playbook.
Do this very subtly because you don’t want to get caught, but just remember a good artist copies while a great artist steals!
Tip #2: View More Profiles
The more profiles that you view, the more views your own profile will get!
This may seem weird however some people pay $20 per month for an automated service that simply goes about viewing other peoples profiles!
You never what types of opportunities may come about from someone viewing your profile so this can be an extremely valuable tip.
Tip #3: Constantly Update Your Profile
This is another one that may seem weird, however every time you update your profile LinkedIn alerts your connections about it.
This will get your name and face out there to your connections and help them to remember that you still exist.
Again, this will bring in more profile views which could be invaluable to you and your organization.
Tip #4: Get More Connections
The more connections that you get, the more you will be connected to 2nd and 3rd degree connections increasing your network exponentially!
If you’re interested in becoming a LinkedIn Open Networker I list the steps in this article here.
Tip #5: Keep In Touch With Your Connections
With all of the views that you will get coming in, you want to keep in touch with your connections.
Consider sending them a quick note to say, “Thank you for viewing my profile, please contact me at this number if you are interested in these services!”
Tip #6: Write Niche Related Articles
If you create amazing content related to your niche on LinkedIn you will become known as a “thought leader”/ expert in your field.
This will position you to be a “go-to” person when it comes to your niche and this will do nothing but good in terms of your lead generation and business growth.
Bonus Tip: Make Use Of Tags To Organize Connections
When you have 100 connections, it’s easy to keep track of them. However, when you get into the thousands it’s a little bit more difficult.
For that reason, LinkedIn has a “tag” feature which allows you to group your connections into certain groups.
You are then able to sort through your connections by tag and then you can target them for specific messages related to the groups that you organized them in!
Just today, I created a tag for “Detroit Area Connections” and then I proceeded to spam them all with a quick little blurb introducing me as well as my business with a phone number and url to my website.
That’s it for this article, please be sure to let me know what you think about my tips to get the most out of LinkedIn down below in the form of a comment. As always, thank you for reading!
